Relationships

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

Sea shore contemplations on relations

"

Relationships

Relationships come to life with strings

With umbilical cords attached

At first glance there is a chance for love

Tears get in the way of true romance

Build emotional tidal waves on rocks

Where oceans separate the lands

With crashing memories and understanding

That leave quicker than they came

Sand mingled with the rain and sanity

Bonding with the soul in memory

Beating with the heart in Spring

Looking out to sea

Reflected sun on mirrored liquid clear

Rolling harmony on blue

Pounding out relationships on distances

To find the one

Taking comfort in the calm
