Roses FallA Poem by Earl SchumackerWhen things get out of handRoses Fall Beautiful yellow roses fall from hand Precisely in the moment of a nuclear explosion Pretty mushroom clouds love to spread destruction The ash pretends to be volcanic in its action Lovely flowers turn in an instant to the void Think bad thoughts of asteroid collisions on the Earth So do buildings and occupants of houses Power works that way on innocence these days Was it a volcano or bomb or outer space invasion Somehow it does not matter to the pretty flower Roses once stood for friendship Once upon a time with motivation Before explosions took their love away When things got out of hand © 2018 Earl SchumackerReviews
