Noob Goes For A Walk

Noob Goes For A Walk

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

A Zeno Paradox

"

Noob goes for a walk in a straight line

The distance from point A to B is easy

But going only half way as required

Going half the distance all the time

Is not so simple as Noob might think

Traveling from A to B means shrinking distances

Carries diminishing returns for all concerned

Noob travels for centuries and picks up speed

To reach a destination which is not there

Going faster than the speed of lightning

Can be frightening with science on your side

Numbers go up and down and sideways

With Noob who travels half as fast

And half the distance all the time

That will have to suffice for now

Points A and B turn microscopic

Soon Noob will be out of sight with them

But always in existence as predicted

In a Zeno Paradox
