A Simply Complex Thing of Beauty and Wonder

A Simply Complex Thing of Beauty and Wonder

A Poem by Easter3
"

Life is filled with Precious Moments of simply complex Beauty and Wonder.

"
Adrift upon a swirling
Cool breeze
A Golden Leaf
Full of Sunlight
Twirls and flutters
Toward the Earth
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
I Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
A Herd of Horses
Come unexpectedly
Thundering through
The Forest
Manes and Tails
Trailing through
Golden Light
And Air
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
I Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
A Hive of Bees
Hidden within
An Oak Tree
Beneath my curious palms
Buzz and Hum
With Life
And the Makings of Life
And succulent Golden Nectar
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
I Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
A Mockingbird
High in the Oak
Filled with Buzzing, Humming
And dripping Honey
Alive with the Alchemy
Of Bees and Pollen
Sings its Singular Song
Of a thousand Songs
From its Nest
Full of chirping Fledglings
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
I Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
“Did you see the Horsies running ?
Did you?”
A Boy’s Voice pipes
Through the sun dappled Forest
As he and his Faithful Dog
Gleefully run and jump and crash
Toward me
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
Smiling
I Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
“Come, come
Wrap your Arms
And put your Ear
To the rough bark
Of the hollow Oak Tree.
What do you Feel ?
What do you Hear ?”
Innocent, inquisitive
Blue Eyes
Grow wide
With Discovery
“I Feel and Hear
The Bees
Making Honey
Inside the Tree !”
His Smile meets mine
As a crystal drop
Of sweat
Slowly rolls down
His lightly freckled nose
A Moment
A simply complex thing
Of beauty and wonder
We Watch
And Listen
In Awe
And Breathe
