My Recurring Escape

My Recurring Escape

A Poem by Emma Claire

We know we will not last
As a moth is drawn to a flame
it cannot linger
and we cannot fall

 Escaping reality with
a partner in crime we are
guilty! of emotion and desire
Whispering sweet nothings to sweet no ones

A sunset is warm, beautiful, quick, and quiet
and we shall be as well
