Estranged day of a lovers tale

Estranged day of a lovers tale

A Poem by Ed Rector

Forsaken son of zion, take one breath now.
For your last one will come like a first kiss
Nervous for the line that splits past and future
Not ready to leave but having no more transgretions.

Take the wind within your black lungs
so deep for yourself yet hallow from the ashes.
Slowly I become the narrow passageway
that sends one into the dark abyss.

Opportunity to seek out life in death.
Limbo successor, hard pressed am I.
For the heavens come with a leap of faith
And hell drags us down to our place.

Should i charge myself to new opportunities
and take a breath of discourse in ambivalence,
or wallow in the inopportune of solitude
in an endless wash of skin flakes of the body?

How shall you pick to be rotten?
Flesh of kinder spirits born to I and a love
shall my love cease when mortality fails,
Or shall I cry from the deceased into my love?

Shall my weakness for love, so blindly seen,
Be cherished across the universe into afterlife
OR to be killed as the flesh of my body does,
Withering weaker day by day, still in youth.

My rejuvenation is eager to restore itself.
But what shall i be after this breath?
Is this the end leaving all belief testified
and forever chained to a soul of justice?

Will I be left to squander alone in purgatory
or be granted the peace of death itself?
only to breath a sharp breath of a kiss goodbye
and one of hope that soothes as i die.
