Innocence Lost

Innocence Lost

A Poem by Eden Reabelle

I used to go to sleep every night thinking of you.
My dreams were compelled by you.
You had a frostbite heart, although it used to beat for me.
Your liquor flavored lips were made for me.
Your pupils dilated when you stared at me.

I got a hot rush every time you ran your fingers through your golden brown hair.
Electric was the only way to describe your touch.
The way you entered a room was magnetic, everyone wanted you.
We used to sing songs from old 20's movies.
They called us toxic, but so were a lot of things.

Now you're gone, I don't know why.
You are now just a bullet hole through my chest.
Although, I loved the way you left a room.
Never thought you'd leave and never come back.

I like the way you worded this and the ending. The woman/man you are talking about had quite an impact on you and it shows. The absence of someone so special can always hurt us deeply. Nice job.
