So Desirous Below The Grave, version 2

A Poem by EdgarAllanPoet

Version 2 of this poem delves into the malevolent actions of an evil Queen and their profound impact on the protagonist.

"
So Derious Below The Grave

So desirous below the grave, it lurks in shadows, dark and brave,
Striking with accurate death blows, as life's thread it swiftly sews.
"Dig it!" said the Queen with a smirk, moments after the deed was done,
Mangled men twisted and tanned, they meekly moved at her command.

Voices rang from the far off land, daftly they moved as if one,
"Take cover!" a shrill voice shouted, as fire from her hands made them run.
The dark sky lit up like the sun, in the wake of destruction, all undone,
The evil Queen, her reign begun.

So desirous below the grave, I watch your soul lave,
Alack! I whisper to my love, the evil Queen's deed is now done.
With heaps of dirt upon your face, I watch helplessly in my place,
The Queen moves away with false grace, with no more settlers left to run.

"Nevermore!" hissed the Queen, then she smiled because there were none,
Leaving him with grave bourdon, his sorrow buried beneath the sun,
For in this dark and twisted tale, where shadows dance and evil prevails,
The Queen's desires, a haunting wail, as darkness veils all hope, it trails.
