Proximity

Proximity

A Poem by Ethan Thompson
"

A poem about self awareness and thoughts that linger and surround the anxious

"
Proximity

They’re closing in on me,
My mind has gone mad.
These thoughts are troubling me,
Thoughts I never used to have.
They’re sharp and pointed
Like fixed bayonets.
Is life really this much of a test?

They’re getting closer now,
It’s hard to breathe.
I’m surrounded and
I’m struggling to see,
Beyond these thoughts that torment me
If only.
I was set free
