My Humble Pie

My Humble Pie

A Poem by Eddie Mustang

The emptiness of today is enshrined in a misplaced love from yesterday.

As a broken line, an invisible force that once bound us has severed.

No longer are we. Together we are not. Us, we are no more.

Why is that so surprising? We would Yin and Yang over a truth. We would pick and pick at a lie until its fester was larger than the problem. We would appel and bind as if in contest with no end.

Our us was toxic, it was but poison to the thread of hearts that joined us. Was this a lesson in humility,  was this some humble pie?  For what ever its role, it came, it challenged, it changed forever.
