A Poem by EelijahGrey
"

; it's a modern day crush.

"
; To sate the gluttons sweet tooth,
Belle brought Grey Goose & strawberries.
Sacrificed to the deaf,
To moans.
Constricted in the sheets,
A generation game.
Someone took shots to the anthem,
For The Captain & for Hard Rock.
Belle used them on the altar.
Soulful Blues, too!
The things, sticky sweet, of dreams.
Them, he & Belle.
She smoked a haze about intent,
With cigarettes,
With cancer.
White! White!
Red on white, black & dark & shadow.
Beneath sing-songs of "those days"
& the stench of the play,
Belle fell asleep,
Asleep entwined in memory of sex & chocolate.

Interesting stream of consciousness you've got going on here. My mind was all over the place when I read this, from wanting liquor, to chuckling at the "deaf moans," to wanting to rock out, to Belle and Sebastian. I enjoyed this--thanks.
