father

father

A Poem by Effector Prime
"

he's lying down in the room breathing like a windmill cz he's tired from the heat I can't think of a better thing to do an ode to my dude

"
father
you're old
as the days come by
it's gedn harder and harder
to accept
that you're not young any more
I know a day will come when
you're no more and
I will have to live on more and more
just with the memories
you will never fade away
you will always be here
you will never go away
you remind me when fear strikes
you remind me of how I should use my might
always be right
forever be noble
don't you ever cheat
don't ever be
don't trust but be trustful
you must always be truthful
father you're alive now and so spunky
a few months from sixty and you've never been so feisty
but what's that I see pain
neck aches
oh what's that I hear
eyes strained
my heart breaks
I know this is not the end
it is the beginning of another time, we'll never be separate
I'll never say good bye
because then and there
my life's purpose would end
for I'll be dead
love you father dear, you're my best friend ever

Your opening lines were what got me, such a focused start. I really like this because it reminds me of the same motions my father is going through. I would have loved to see some typographcal playing with this poem to make it as beautiful as the intent and content. Well done though!

I loved this one from you.I notice how you talk about your dad.Old emotion in me tells me my dad is my hero, I will realize it again, towards the end. Meanwhile, I will just try to be as good as a daughter I can be.

A great poem on paternal love. I especially appreciate it as my dad is ailing with cancer. This is a lovely tribute. A fathers always stay with us.
