Exploding Sun

One day the sun exploded
Rays came tumbling down
Tears rolling down cheeks
Breath caught within chests
hearts stopped beating
Along with the sun, we fell apart.
Not knowing what to do, we cried.
We loved the sun.
It was beautiful, brilliant
and it was torn away.
Hoping it magically reappeared
just to see a black hole where it once was.
That breath still trapped, that heart not beating
the tears that continue to run
The loss of the sun is never forgotten
and hearts still don't beat as the tears continue to fall.
We can only hope the memory of the brilliant sun
will revive those hearts and wipe those tears
and patch up the pain the black hole
so we can live again
