Snowfall

Snowfall

A Poem by Chelsea Marie

I sense winter on your lips.
A cool brush with death
Keeps me coming back to you.
And the spark in your eyes
That brings nothing but trouble.

A love as cold as this warrants
A haven of fire
To singe away the chill.
Take me in your arms tonight,
Hold me while I sleep.
This is a winter I could get used to,
This is a chill I could keep.

Ice cages keep wings frozen
And songs unsung.
A songbird dreams of spring,
Much like I do of you
As I slumber in this winter snow.

I sense winter on your lips.
A cool brush with death
Keeps me coming back to you.
And the spark in your eyes
That brings nothing but trouble.

And there was a split moment
When those three words
Became more than friendly.
And I wanted to carry them home,
And sleep beside them,
To never let them go.
