A Gentle Wave

Just a metaphor.

A gentle wave

does not scream louder

than a tidal wave

against the rock.

But the gentle wave

tears it down;

piece by piece

there was never a shock.

The tidal wave

reminds the rock

to be strong

and stand tall.

The gentle wave

chipping away

takes everything

but the rock’s soul.
