Lemons

Lemons

A Poem by Elise

I need to smile when I'm sucking on a lemon and the insufferable pain radiates through my jaw?

I need to laugh when I'm chopping up some lemon and with the slip of the knife my stinging wound bleeds raw?

I need to "be kind" when I'm squeezing on a lemon and a drop of juice makes my eye burn and tear?

I need to realize that you are a lemon
And I'm no longer living in fear

I can see that you've had to endure pain with someone, which begs the question...do you need this lemon? Good job!
