Our JourneyA Poem by Elise PehrsonAn allusion/ode to the song "At the Beginning" by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis. This poem was written for the love of my life: my fiance. :)We were strangers Now we’re on our journey Never knowing what would happen, We jumped into a chance Worth taking. Now here we are: Full circle.
No one told me I was going to find you When I lost hope, You were there to remind me, To guide me; You’re my journey I’ll be there At the beginning With you.
We’re beginning an amazing Adventure, Unafraid of the mysteries Ahead. Life is a quest where our courage Is shaken Things will break, But our hearts won’t be Broken. Trials will be speed bumps That bring me closer To you.
I’ll be there when troubles start Churning When challenges brew and their sun is Burning I’ll be there when you’re drowning In life’s bittersweet Sorrow To pick you up to where you belong: With me. © 2012 Elise Pehrson |
