Sweet Edith

Sweet Edith

A Poem by Mali Ba

Put your tears in your pocket.

Keep them for later,

for there's work to be done.

When you find your pockets dry,

don't go a-looking for clues.

Put your faith in your shoes,

where none can pilfer,

no tongue will ask you why.

when sodom falls and zion calls

sweet Edith, don't you cry.
