Moon Child

Moon Child

A Poem by Elle Kiely

Forsaken here in Earth's long grip
the seasons pull you under
you watch them go like tidal waves
that crash and roll and thunder

Moon child, your heart is wild
like dusks thorny roses
that grow so well, they cast sweet spells
over passing strangers

Falling from grace, you've found your place
watching perfection fade
without your stars, and charms of gold
the wait seems so much longer

Since you've found your heart again
you can't go back, not now
to then

It's now spinning in a tangled web
with venomous, poisoned creatures
consumed by lust for feeding
unsure of light and many of it's features

They're not like you
you see, moon child
you are

loves beacon.
