When fire eats the rain...

When fire eats the rain...

A Poem by EllebannA
"

The world as we knew it... the world as we know it!

"
When it was then,
I was not afraid, i could walk in the dark, play alone in my yard
The rain would fall and i would play,
All my innocence tucked safely inside of me
I felt safe, i imagined the world to be safe

However, i am no longer living then
I am living now
What I knew is nothing like what i know now
Long ago, the rain washed the fire away, not, fire eats the rain

The old forgetting their morals, the young never cultivating any
Murders and violence becoming nothing but a fact that people are no longer shocked about
I see things moving the opposite way, not the way it was supposed to go
Fire ain't afraid of the rain anymore...
Rain is... I don't feel safe anywhere

All i see now is blood shed, famine, wars, children crying for help
Nature slowly dying, our oxygen is slowly becoming a luxury
Sicknesses, earthquakes, tsunami's, natural disasters that no one ever heard about
This is the world now, this is what i know now
The fire becomes stronger eating up the rain that could wash the pain away

Gone is my innocence, gone is my childhood
I have learnt to be an adult way before i needed to
Yes, this is the world now, spinning around in catastrophe
The pain gulps the happiness away
The tears push the smiles away
The greed takes away justice
Indeed, the fire has consumed the rain.
