Confusion

Confusion

A Poem by EllenCas1974
"

Oldie but goodie

"

There have been moments"

walking downtown coffee in hand what type of cut do I like

Indigo Girls concert my favorite song his fingers entwined with mine

two little kids on the beach if I had twins will I ever have children

Where I thought maybe,

maybe I was important to him.

Easiest would have been the other one.

The one who claimed to love me,

the one who was willing to change his entire life, for me.

But,

I didn’t love him,

and after his revelations,

I didn’t even respect him.

Instead, I’m drawn towards this one.

This one whose life seems to not have a place for me"

judging actions instead of words.

This one who wants to please those people

who do not want to be pleased.

Who longs after the ones that I am not.
