Its the buzzer!

Its the buzzer!

A Poem by Ellen Mary

Its time, now
And I have to make the decision to take the step in the right direction

Maybe I've been shuffling my way through the crowd
Through the dense brush

Tapping my fingers on the table
Looking at my peers to see their reaction
Hesitating and waiting for some sort of sign

But what better sign than a tap on your mind
Saying, hey now girl, it's time to move on

Reality sinks in
Like a rock thrown in the thick mud
You've tortured yourself long enough
Put on a smile
Cried your heart out
You've broken some glasses and have thrown some fits
And finally, enough is enough

You've shaken your head, and wondered 'what's wrong?'
And you've waited and waited

What a realisation
Opening the curtains
To see an audience applauding
For you were lost in the dark, behind the curtains
Pulling and pulling just to see that spotlight of sanity
And now you can be unveiled

Lets raise our glasses to one step towards clarity
