writer's block.

writer's block.

A Poem by Elena
"

staring at a page for hours.

"

nothing is pure,

and nothing is safe,

from the monster of self consciousness

and the bitterness of self hate.

no word is right,

no sentences fits;

nothing is in the proper structure,

and your grammar is s**t.

it's too raw,

or it's too contrived,

nothing is good enough

for their eyes.

no topic is fresh,

and your style is stale;

this has as much charm

as teenage chain mail.

it's too long,

or it's too short,

but regardless,

it's time to abort.

Great job!
It's true, writer's block can be a real pain in the neck. No matter how hard you try, either you have it or you don't. Every one goes through it, at one time or the other, and sometimes you feel like screaming in frustration because it claws you from the inside.

I really liked it.

This is cool. I've had writer's block before--not often--and it's absolute hell fior me. Very well said and with great rhythm. Nice!

This was brilliantly funny! Writing of writers block is one of the best cures for taming the foe. It's like killing a dragon with its own fire - nothing quite as satisfying - especially when you end up with a piece like this. Well done.

I enjoyed the poem :D
Writer's block is vexing and annoying beyond belief. Unfortunately, like a bad cold, it will always eventually come back and leave you in a state of fustration and irritation. The poem expresses that very well.
"no topic is fresh,

That was brilliant XD. Loved the poem, good job

I like how straight-forward this is. It's easy to read, yet still describes the feeling of writer's block quite well.

I think that the flow could use some work as it reads a bit choppy at places, but overall a good work.

A great way of describing writer's block... something we all (as writers) must suffer at some time, lol:D Great poem and description. I enjoyed that a lot!

Ah the hated enemy of every good writer, balanced flow and reportorial meaning with grandeur, brilliantly written, great read.

This was great. Any writer who has not felt such for their own work is probably not writing good stuff LOL. My favorite line was "this has a much charm as teenage chain mail." Really good stuff Elena :)
