I Still Got

It may be crummy outside,
But I still got my head high.
Lookin' to the sky.
Keepin' my pride.

I feel like a zombie some days,
But I still got a motor in me.
Pumping fuel day by day.
Just chuggin' along.

Perhaps this was the only way
To uncover and find myself.
Someone I have to re-make.
Re-draw, re-trace.

I may look young,
But I still had a mission.
I had no other muse
Besides a pen and paper.

I still got to write out my heart
For the world to hear.

This is really nice, I like the second stanza referring to yourself as a zombie and then the fourth stanza and last two lines.

I like this very much, its like your holding a fire inside I like the re draw retrace part because it defines how the human state ussually is in constant motion and always changing. LOVED IT!

Oh I loved you said: "I still got a motor in me" that line is perrrfect for me!
This is a seasonal piece, full of pathos, and honesty.

Perseverance in the face of adversity is an admiral quality in a person. Never let it go. And never stop writing, if that is your passion. As you say, you still got to write out your heart, for the world to hear. And if there's one thing I know about the world, there's always someone listening.

A great piece of hope, acceptance and self-awareness.
Love the third stanza especially. Such a great tone and flow and message. You have to be the one to recover, no one else can re-envision your life for you. Much strength in this piece.
