Phantom

Phantom

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I slipped out in the night.
The night the lake freezes over.
It was a shadow that woke me.
"I won't hurt you."
He doesn't want you to fear him.
Such a kind of phantom
listening from the edge of a place.
He listened for the unspoken,
like a kept-secret.
Staining the later hours,
it came down to desires or
to what daylight delivers.
Without shame or fear,
I'm calling for a change in heart.
A ray of reality!
