Lost Life

Lost Life

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Where am I?

What's going on?

I see desert and no buildings or civilization...

You then are noticed through the dust of the storm.

Standing as the sand hits you from all around.

You don't move.

Your body must be stung badly if the dust is blowing that hard.

I worry about you at this point.

Caring, but can't crawl or reach you.

Wanting to grab your hand so you could help me hold on.

I would be stronger and able to get up off the desert ground.

You just stand in the desert circle as you watch me lay

On the ground that devours my remains in which you will miss.

I love how you always capture things from your own perspective.
Never a word wasted on empathy.

Wow.. this sounds more like a dream..at least one that I would have. The feeling of despair and being helpless really comes through within your words. I don't know if I should be sorry for you disappearing from his/her life or for the one standing idle.. for knowing that he/she will miss you and did nothing to stop you from going.. regret is a hard thing to conquer. Either way it was a good read. The words flowed quite well. Thank you for sharing such a poem. Keep up the good work as you are quite talented!
