No Complaint and Gone

No Complaint and Gone

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

My words are

Like the wind in the air.

I smell them, breathe them.

They arre mine.

I crave them all the time.

I will never

Let them go.

I want him to love me.

But all he did

Was kill me.

I was crushed

And he refused to help me

Up.

I didn't understand

This reason.

I was nothing to him.

He was ashamed of me.

I never complained

And he left me

Broken on the tile floor.

I knew I was done

Once that door closed

Behind his last step.

Great poem, short and sweet. I can't wait to read more of your poems. :)

Very strong poem. Emotionally and mentally vulnerable. Beautifully written.

There's a lot of pain and rejection in your words. I've read several of your poems so far, and you definitely say a lot with just a few words.

Stron words. I particularly like the first stanza... I think it shows your passion to write and, though I'm not sure if you did it on purpose, but I like how you prioritized it over him and opened the poem with it.... Almost as if we used it to get yourself comforable or to "stretch" before the poem begins..

I like and appreciate the vulnerabilty you share with us. The poem ends leaving us with a clear visual of the situation at the end...

I would love to hear a second poem..a follow-up on your "recovery" for the readers who are left curious. Stabbing Westward's first big CD had something like this where it wet through all the different stages- from trouble in the relationship to the break-up, to shallow make up attempts, rock bottom, then finally
recovery and the "get out of my life" stage
