To Go Home

I would give so much

To go home.

To be with

The people I love.

I don't understand

Why I can't just leave.

But I must stay here

In this part of life.

I have to risk

Being alone and sad.

I left my scars out

For everyone to see.

So they are the ones

To tell me I'm crazy.

I have nothing more to say.

Unless it's about someone else.

Because it is myself

I know nothing about.

Maybe I am not me.

I wish to be a new person.

Reborn in the light.

Caressed in darkness.

Reborn into this life.

That is what I wish

But it won't happen.

Beautiful and, at the same time, heart breaking. It is a really hard thing to want a different life.. to wish for it above almost anything else, yet know that you have to remain in the life you are in. Also, you make a good point, with the lines "I have nothing more to say Unless it's about someone else. Because it is myself I know nothing about." People always focus on the fact that you can never truly know another person, but they tend to forget about how difficult it is to truly know yourself. Excellent write :)
