City of Screams

City of Screams

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I live

In the City of Screams.

It''s a place with people

Crying out for help,

Yet, no one bothers to care.

Those who don't bother

Hold the keys

That cease the screaming.

I hear your cries

But I can't seem to find you

In this big world.

I search everywhere.

High and low

I find  nothing but old dust.

Soon, the screams have stopped

The screams of everyone.

The world is silent

And I have a smile on my face.

The world is all happy again.

No more screams

To crush us to the ground.
