Farmless

Farmless

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

And for that

I stood there.

Speechless.

I hadn't a clue what to do

After that.

Out in the barn

A cow is injured.

A sheep is dead.

The cats run scattered on the outskirts.

The horses are gone.

We had nothing to say.

Nothing to do.

For this had happened overnight.

I buried the sheep

Out in the cornfield.

The cow is better.

I've calmed the cats down.

And I can't do nothin' about the loose horses.

This was the life

Of a farmless person.
