I Don't Sleep on Friday Nights

I Don't Sleep on Friday Nights

A Poem by Emilia Svjeda
"

A true story about how I truly and unfortunately sleep.

"

I had a sleeping disorder,

One that basically turned me nocturnal.

I was simply fated to struggle with slumber,

And my body was starting to feel the toll.

However, I had a strategy

To counteract my sleepless horror.

It was a foolproof plan, you see.

I added a second disorder that canceled out the other.

I stopped sleeping on Fridays.

Then I was so tired during the rest of the week

That I’d sleep on time the rest of the days.

And since I started, I have to say

My energy’s never seen such peaks.
