It states wonderfully what is perhaps the 800-pound gorilla in the room for all writers; that we have these little snatches of epiphany which we try to weave into a coherent whole, yet the universe--the one of thought, belief, and idea as well as the physical one-- is just too large, too incomprehensible for us to wrestle to the grounds. This is actually a pretty damn big thought, and very nicely expressed.
This is great. Expresses so much in so little. It sometimes takes that little pea-sized thought to bring about something huge. When it comes to poetry sometimes it's that one line that just sprouts up in your head that can become a masterpiece of a poem. It's a crazy thing to think about, but it's true.
But just one thought is what can spark it all, much like creation, God, et cetera.
All thoughts have been thought, it is said, but I refuse to believe that they've been uttered. And to say it out loud or write it down is what gives it its fullest power, its potential to startle this world into another mode of thinking.
Peas can turn into cannonballs, don't you think?
A rather dangerous foodfight, if so...
It's out there somewhere.. something profound to be discovered and written. The one thing that turns heads and shakes minds. A little thought that says a lot.
HAHAHAHAA.........i like that u say 'a' universe and that us women are known for our thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking....................it's coz of that one thought we havent found yet!
haha
I rather enjoyed this "little thought", one that I think connects to all writers. I often wonder if the universe is waiting until we are ready to discover the thought. Nicely done and truly enjoyed!
Elementary my dear Ema. I too feel myriad of poems(gems) are out there just waiting to be discovered. This poem is short, but the sleuthing is undeniable. Whether its the fickle muses or 'pea sized thoughts', the clues leading to profound poetics are out there. Nice.

I am no Wendy;
but my voice brings you back to me.
And you sit around my feet,
anxious for a story
or a kiss.
Listening to my words
spinning adventures,
like so much g.. more..
