riding dreams

riding dreams

A Poem by Emily B

It's something about

dreams I can't remember

when my mind rambles on

running through hidden rhythms

looking for something greener.

It's something about

meeting you there in the mists

in-between natural conversation

and forgotten memories.

Having known you

and lost you and found you,

I still grieve those vacant hours

always harder before the rain comes.

It's something about

the way you hold my hand--

I'm sure of it--even if,

I can't remember how it felt.

What a wonderful poet you are, and what an illusive, beautiful painting of someone you love inside a dream you've given us! "I still grieve those vacant hours always harder before the rain comes" very profound and almost a seperate thought from the rest of the poem, still so well written; my favorite lines of the poem. Maybe because the whole poem strummed my heart-strings. Beautifully done, Emily. xx - Mimi.

This is excellent, and a work that I'd think about publishing. You've used common and accessible words, yet woven images that are pure and very visual. I don't have any nits at all.

This is nice how you capture the way our minds work through our dreams.

"It's something about

Beautifully descriptions.

Every line is so meaningful to any who has dreamed, and relived for a while, a precious relationship, only to wake and find it gone again...
These lines cut to the quick:

Having known you
and lost you and found you,
I still grieve those vacant hours

Emily, this is beautiful. It reminds me of so many things ... of dreams and of realitiies that are just so beautiful they feel like dreams. The sadness of waking up, but the joy in having had it all in the first place. I love your words. You are so wonderful at capturing moments and evoking emotions within your readers.
