A Poem by Emily B

Previous Version
This is a previous version of found words.

there will be words today
or rain
I can never seem to tell the difference

clouds are forming
thoughts swell

preparing for the relief that will come

your dreams lay waiting
for the sunshine of a smile
and the quenching of a word

rain is promised by painted skies

lie back
and rest yourself a moment

soon the words will fall
you will be soaked through
by the longing in my voice

comfort will wrap you up
and fill you with promised sweetness

It should't grow, its perfect as it is ... I love how you beautifully connected lack of words , to lack of water , dry as the desert , sometimes we feel the emptiness of no words , like praying for the rain to come and wash us all .... all poets can relate to this , we are the words people , we are longing to be heard on dry periods ... only a writer that know how hard it is , not to fid the right words to express the feelings , wait for the rain to come , wet the ground again before the first bloom... thank you for briinging so much beauty into here xx

Powerful and emotive: the diamonds amid downcast raindrops. Love the structure, the varying line lengths really make the poem seem as if you are musing as you write. Such classical imagery which is always the most charged.

how to
forget loneliness
creeping)

speaking to you
in a voice crackling
with emptiness

(these dreams are
stories to wake up from
blessed and full

I like this, reminds me of a man and woman wanting to say how they feel but find themselves talking about the weather.
