Along the Road

Along the Road

A Poem by Mockingbird5

Imagine you are taking a stroll down a long beachy road

It is a warm and sunny day, with a slight drop of humidity hanging in the air

You are surrounded by trees, not another person to be heard

There is hot sand laying below you, and it burns your feet, as you are not wearing shoes

Birds chirp and sing high among the tree tops

You are so close to the ocean you can smell the salt

Somewhere far off in the distance, you hear the chiming of a bell

It is loud and strong

Suddenly the sun fades behind clouds, and the wind picks up

The sand thrashes and flies striaght into your eyes

There is no longer the sounds of chirping birds
