I don't think there will be significant changes to the game as they made with D3. I can remember the first time D3 was released, and act 2 was so hard that almost all players was struggling to get through it until the patch was released. The D2 game is not as difficult. The current state of play is mostly exactly the same as before. They are currently working on minor balance adjustments to classes and are also adding new runewords in the near future but I'm not sure they're changing the fundamental gameplay of it any less enjoyable.

D2 runs a lot slower, so more attention is required to define your build D2R Items. I played before the expansion's initial patches when there was no quest or tokens that you could change your spec. If you increased your abilities or talents and created a brand new character. This isn't a problem in the present, but you could still boost your skills and make it harder for yourself at the beginning.

It's not my intention to go through a lot of guidebooks on strategy this time around. I played this a while ago and as I'm getting back into it, I'm trying out a lot of different strategies. Guides are great for creating characters when you're just beginning and aren't having a clear idea of what you want to buy d2r items build however, after playing this a few years ago, hazy memories are coming back when I play with the game.
