Love and Technology Never Mix

Love and Technology Never Mix

A Poem by Emi
"

You build up a mechanical defense to life, and it will corrode away.

"
The touch of you corrupts.
Rains over me, rusting everything.
Like acid, it corrodes my metal parts.
I glitch, I twitch, I cease function in your presence,
404 not found.
Brain? Never had one.
My system shuts down in the aftermath to you.
The touch of you breaks me,
Can't think, can't breathe, can't move when you're around.
Every part of me calls out for you.
A code with one error waiting to be corrected.

Love and technology never mix.
Too bad I've been a too-big heart and metal wires since the day I was born.
Some parts of me are metal, screws and titanium.
Some parts of me are flesh, waiting, begging for touch.
Sparking, spelling destruction for all who get too close.
You possess the screwdrivers, the heat-resistant gloves.
The touch of you corrupts,
leaves me wanting more.
Even my metal parts ache for touch when you're around,
you warm my too-big heart.
You repair all my broken circuits.
