ko`tha and Starr

A Poem by EmpressPoetess
"

Actually an excerpt from a short story I'm writing, a historical Native American romance

"

Ribbons in the sky
cascading down slowly
silken  spirals in the mist
stars collide, rain down
their sparkle shimmering

in the dark, distant night
air sweetened with the kiss
of flower-blessed trees
waving their bouquets about

the dewy ground lays out
a carpet of lush green
 sounds of the night whisper
in languages unknown

of secrets sewn within
the night's velvety fabric
the wolf calls in a song of love
for a mating  to renew life
a crane woops and dances

in a feathery waltz
the boy takes her hand
and she runs with him
through the liquid, warm night
she turns her face up to the sky
and the warm air caresses her skin
like a lover's welcome kiss

they run along the river's edge
seeking that magical place
beyond the river of dark water
where she is promised to him
their lives become joined as one
and their young hearts are set free
