Is it early morning, or late night?

Is it early morning, or late night?

A Poem by Lavery the Librettist

I sit perched on my window sill,
Listening to the rain falling hard from the sky.
The reflection of the moon shines on my face,
Stars glistening together on high.

Is it early morning, or late night?
The mist and dew has set, awaiting the melting light.
I can't sleep, the wind chimes echo in my head,
As I look around my room, at my untouched bed.

A sunbeam is on the horizon, the sun starting to set,
How can this be, I haven't slept yet.
The howling wind, turned to a subtle breeze,
Dancing trees, swaying flowers, floating leaves.

I creep to the bathroom, as quiet as a mouse,
Everyone is still fast asleep, in my silent house.
I fill up the sink, splash a fountain of water on my face,
It's now early morning, a new day to embrace.

What shall I do today, what to explore,
Maybe a walk in the park, or a day at the seashore.
What is the weather like, what shall I wear,
I must go now, there's so much to prepare.

Very nice structure of rhyme and cadence. It is much as a style that I generally utilize, and like. I guess I am old school in my teaching, and feel that is the way a work should be..... some of the stuff I see on here, to me seems just like rambling of words...with no structure even attempted. Nice job.
