UnattainableA Poem by Kate
Previous Version This is a previous version of Unattainable. I daydream
of you Discreetly I yearn And I need to break free. You can’t
always get what you want, An old song has said. Yet I don't know if I want you, I think I need you, instead. When your eyes are on me I feel a flicker of hope. But it fades away quickly Floats away, just like smoke Maybe it'd be best If I go on alone. To let go of the hurt, Of the yearning I've known Why do I latch on? Never will you be mine. You show no interest for me Yet I keep looking for signs. My mind's littered with fantasy,My love for you's unexplainable My passion's unrequited You are so unattainable. © 2011 Kate |
