Fairy Tales

A Poem by Eos

When did pregnancy become a cult
Complete with sticky dust
And rainbow kids
And rituals involving pills
Encouraging maybe babies
From thickening mucus?
Why does our worth center on
Our ability to breed instead of nurture
And why do I feel such anger
At this aggressive feminine culture?

I read this a few times...and I have to say I like it because it made me think... The lack of desire or ability to nurture and love our own selves may be at the root of crazed efforts to reproduce and fix ourselves through our children..

Thanks for posting

This is intense and intrigueing and you've done a great job of taking an idea that not many people actually verbalize and put it into simple, but powerful words!
