Green and Blue

Green and Blue

A Poem by EpiphanyPrince (Adam)
"

Musicians need writers nad writers need musicians.

"

You’re dazed

And standing on the ocean

Blue lights and green eyes

Seven rays of sunshine

As singing clocks chime.

Just a star across some other

Caught in a wonder

With a strawberry moon

You don’t imagine me anymore

You’re living an empty dream

Waiting on a lie to come true.

(Chorus)

From where we are standing now

I still hear you laughing naked

I close my eyes

And I see you dancing

On the beach in January

The tides change

And the waves hide

The footprints we made

Have washed out

With worn out love.

The wind carries our secrets

Sending shivers across my soul

Your lips move in silence

Knock twice on a heavy door

I’m so happy on my own

But I don’t think I will ever get used to

Knowing I was always alone

Dancing on a beach in January

Can be so f*****g cold.

(Chorus)

From where we are standing now

I still hear you laughing naked

I close my eyes

And I see you dancing

On the beach in January

The tides change

And the waves hide

The footprints we made

Have washed out

With worn out love.

I could write out a thousand songs

In a lovers night

But that is nothing compared

To how you tore through my life

In the death of second of time

Taking everything

You thought was mine

I’m still trying to get away

But the destination has changed

True love is a memory

I never got to make.

(Chorus)

From where we are standing now

I still hear you laughing naked

I close my eyes

And I see you dancing

On the beach in January

The tides change

And the waves hide

The footprints we made

Have washed out

With worn out love.

(Bridge)

Here in a  reminder

Of a seasonal romance

That changed four times faster

Than your second glance

Pictures of each other

Burn with a green and blue hue

I’ve kept nothing

That reminds me of you

But a broken heart

And the love you gave me

That was not true.

So dance around on your lonely cloud

Nine times higher

Than the pedestal I made for you

Sing out every song

Until your face turns black and blue

You’ll be forever known

For copying everything I do.

(Chorus)

From where we are standing now

I still hear you laughing naked

I close my eyes

And I see you dancing

On the beach in January

The tides change

And the waves hide

The footprints we made

Have washed out

With worn out love.

So stand there laughing naked

And close your eyes

Dance on a beach in January

Change the tide

Hide in a wave

And never forget

The footprints we made

You can keep it all

The lies

A broken heart

And a love that died.
