If God Gave Eden To EveA Poem by EpiphanyPrince (Adam)Musicians need writers and writers need musicians. What would you expect of me Would you tempt me, tease me Would you rattle the tree Easy living but What do you dream of in perfect eternity? If it had have been me Would you give For my forgiven misery Is your peace without me. (Chorus) If God gave Eden to Eve Would you Follow me out heavens door If I’m not what you want What did God create me for? I’d let you eat from any tree Best of times perfect memories Paradise dreams nice But I couldn’t close my eyes If you weren’t On the other side with me. Pushed down and out Guilts on me now Would you still be my Eve If it was all my fault. (Chorus) If God gave Eden to Eve Would you Follow me out heavens door If I’m not what you want What did God create me for? If we were cast out of Eden For something so small I would drive you around Hell Until we saw it all Just meet me again At the steeple If you’ll have me Together forever through it all. If you had it all Would you drop it Cause you loved me more. (Chorus) If God gave Eden to Eve Would you Follow me out heavens door If I’m not what you want What did God create me for? (Bridge) I’m more than fine with Eve Outside looking in At where it all began So long as we are together We always win.
When God finally let’s us back in I think being free On the outside is better Than being trapped within. (Chorus) If God gave Eden to Eve Would you Follow me out heavens door If I’m not what you want What did God create me for? If God gave Eden to Eve I’d still be here To be your man From where all your love Forever began. November 11th 2020 By: Adam John Hopkins © 2021 EpiphanyPrince (Adam) |
