Reverie

Reverie

A Poem by Equscatech
"

Inspired by Pushkin, the great writer and poet.

"

O darkness,

where are you from?

Why the terror of nocturnal dreams,

in my heart of wavering despair?

My reminiscences, light;

gone far, far away.

In this terrifying darkness,

I await.

Above my drooped head,

an extended note hovers,

a ring in the ear?

My darkness, what can this be?

Is this the voice of God, the way of hope?

My spent heart beats, reluctantly hoping,

a luminescent light dimly glows.

My lord, please hear my prayers!

This shan’t be the last of my hopes, no!

Be gone, darkness! Be Gone!

Leave me alone with myself

to live in brightness,

my consoling reverie.

I personally think it might needs a bit more fluency but, aside from that, I like it.
