Did you laugh today? (Love poem#2)

Did you laugh today? (Love poem#2)

A Poem by Ern M. Yoshimoto
"

love poem 2

"

Did you laugh today?
did you give the sky a wave?
did you watch the sunset
 with a child-like gaze?

Did you see your friends
and did they say:
 what are your dreams,
 and what are your regrets?

It all just seems
these days will never end.

So be kind, be loving.

I don’t have a lot,
 but I’m alive
  and that’s not nothing.

Simple and wonderful words and thoughts. Our world is too fast pace. We need to slow down and show kindness and concern to the people near. They could need a kind word, a hug. Thank you Ernest for sharing the amazing poetry.

Yashimoto,
I do not remember exactly when or from whom I was told, long before I had to learn for myself, but you are truely alive when suffering pain. There is only one other event as revealing. I enjoyd finding that out with a particularly good friend... From- the noise we made, and the looks on our faces, you'd have thought someone was pulling our legs off...

I waved at an owl and a squirrel but they never replied, unless you can count the squirrel doing a mission impossible equation in its head to figure out it could use the washing line to get to the food above the bird bath!
But hey, that's normal and they do give me that ear worm from the theme tune every time I see them

thanks Andra. it sure is. or at least, it sometimes is...

What thoughtful and otherwise kindly sentiments run throughout this little gem of a love poem .. 'I don't have a lot, but I'm alive and that's not nothing' comes across as an impassioned plea .. what a fine and fitting ending to this love poem .. Neville

This makes me reminisce my childhood days when I was able to laugh because I didn't have a lot of problems yet. I miss those days when I was able to dream big thinking I could achieve them all. I miss laughing like a child, not until I reached the point where I couldn't stop laughing, not because I was happy, but because I didn't understand my life anymore. Now I rarely laugh because I'm afraid people who know me having a bipolar disorder, will think I lose my mind again. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. It reminds me of how I used to be when I was just a kid.

thanks Pete!
This is simple but profound.
We take so many things for granted…
Sometimes we become so ungrateful and entitled we miss the little but extraordinary miracles that surround us.
Thank you for reminding me that the greatest blessings are in the simple experiences.

Being alive is the most important thing of all and we should try to fill that life with all of the good things in life, like good friends, nature, awesome sunrises and sunsets, keep hope alive for our dreams and live WITHOUT regrets. We should be loving and kind to everybody, life is not happy for us all and we should try to make each life we touch a little better when we leave it, than it was when we found that person. A beautiful insightful write, Ern. Your thoughts are finely expressed and very meaningful in words. So enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing...
