... it was supposed to be romantic

... it was supposed to be romantic

A Poem by Elvina CZq

... it was supposed to be romantic
but the smile vanished when
the value of a piece material
won over the trust of a heart
to take greater care of such possession.

... it was supposed to be romantic
when she's smile at the sight of him
knowing by heart that his words of forever
were only words carried by the wind
and soon might vanish when
the heart of care fades.

... it was supposed to be romantic
when she learnt every trinket in his chamber
is special, valued, whispered a story, and had
sailed the ships of greater history.
Yet, she took risk of
committing a sin.

... it was just a sin of taking part of
his soul to love, to stay warm with
while the sea parted them once again
for another time being until
they gain more strength to pull
into each other's arms again.

... it was supposed to be affectionated
by words of passion that then turned
into intimate touch and should such
feeling carry on by a single possession,
only to be greeted by hurtful and
wrongful care.

... it was simply a bold gesture
to walk down the promised path,
to prove their words aren't make-believe,
and simply her romantic, foolish soul
leading the way,
to be the Queen to her King.

... it was supposed to be warm
but it turned cold by touch, and
she wouldn't dare to wear his treasure
as she intended to keep their affection warmth,
because of fear she might impure
his valued belonging.

... it was supposed to be romantic
and she wishes to ask for forgiveness
for being foolish,
for allowing her heart to take lead,
for wanting to preserve the memory of his touch,
and for adoring romance.

... it was supposed to be romantic
...
..
