Withering Alongside

Withering Alongside

A Poem by Esoteric Strand
"

Word challenge poem...I had to use: grandeur, lineage, adulation, specter, realm, colossus/ speed write (5 mins)

"

Whether we walk or sit,

in or amid

a modest forest, or a garden’s grandeur.

Whether we talk or listen,

in a quaint shack,

or a mansion colossus.

A lineage persists after death

There is no end of the line.

Just dust in the shape of a girl.

Left to roam this exhausted realm.

I suspect her specter

breathes in our adulation.

Almost beats almost a heart.

We are the tormented!

Left to admire her listless drift from afar.
