In the Distance

In the Distance

A Poem by Tessa Le Rouge

In the distance i hear you weep,
so i quietly sigh at my seat.
but then i feel tears at my feet,
and i know there is something more
to the tired eyes of my paramour.

As life's secrets start to unfold
like a flower slowly blooming.
I realize that we're all losing.
Heartache always wins the race
when you have a skeptic's pace.

I lay in bed and dream of sleep,
as shadows dance against the walls.
I take a breath and let my lids fall.
Tomorrow always brings anew
and I hope to spend it here with you.

Our story is yet to be told.
So don't you dare walk out now.
We can still love, I'll show you how.
Just place your hand over my heart
and feel how you make it fall apart.

A very beautiful poem. It remind me of something that would be in a Blake Babies song. My favorite part was:

"As life's secrets start to unfold
like a flower slowly blooming.
I realize that we're all losing.
Heartache always wins the race
when you have a skeptic's pace."

Thanks for the review:o)

This is interesting. Fave lines:
"I lay in bed and dream of sleep"
"Our story is yet to be told,
So don't you dare walk out now."
