Crimson Teardrops

Crimson Teardrops

A Poem by Sarah Merritt
"

I know it's depressing, this is a poem about a depressed girl who is lost in her place in the world.

"

Crimson teardrops running down my cheeks

I don't think I've eaten in weeks

Kept as prisoner, lost in the world

Waiting for my life to unfurl.

Throwing my belongings at the wall

Anger managment pills don't help at all

Walls seemingly move it, big and tall

They Crush me, leaving me weak and small.

Dreaming of the back door out of life

I head to the kitchen and pull out a knife

The pain, the misery, when will it suffice?

Blood dripping from my arm, onto the wall is my sacrifice.

Hmmm...this is a sad piece, but you express the feeling beautifully- In those dark moments it sometimes does feel as though we are bleeding from our eyes - wonderful write!
