Edge of Reality

Edge of Reality

A Poem by kenya smith
"

We live in an Utopia and don't want to live in reality.

"

I don’t know what to believe anymore
Is the life we live, real?
Or, is life on earth, just my imagination
The voices in my head, are telling me
That reality is just a fragment of my mind
That we humans are living in a dream world

And we’re not realizing what the world, can actually be
A wasteland dystopia, a world of sadness
The human mind rather live in the imagination
The imagination of a utopia
A world full of happiness
They are not listening to the voices, of their conscience

I honestly don’t want to believe
That we live in a dystopia
But, if that is reality
Then what are us humans?
Are we just brainwashed?
Brainwashed by the fact that we’re ignorant?

Or, are we just don’t want to confess that we live in a wasteland?
What is wrong with the world, you ask?
Everything is wrong
Death, crime, disease, pollution
We humans don’t realize the world we actually live in
It’s a dystopia, a wasteland

That is reality
That we wish to not live in
So we think up a nice utopia
And shut out the world we live in
Can we come to the fact that
Everything is a dystopia?

We can’t, we never will
We rather live in the fake profile
Of our utopian mind
We rather live in a happy world
Full of peace and love
And not live on the edge of reality
